INDIGESTION AND ACIDITY
Indigestion may be simply a sensation of discomfort after  food, or marked by symptoms of nausea, heartburn, stomach  congestion, wind and occasional vomiting
Most common cause is faulty habits of eating. Such as eating  too fast, eating too much, eating when not hungry, eating when  tense or emotionally upset excessive intake of rich food or alcohol, food allergies, imbalances in stomach acid or digestive enzymes, and many other causes.
Treatment includes giving the digestion as much rest as possible by adopting regular eating habits, and selecting wholesome, easily digestible foods. Avoid late-night eating, and reduce coffee, tea and alcohol consumption. Try to stop smoking. Persistent pain or burning in the digestive tract may indicate ulcers or other problems and warrants allopathic examination.

Homeopathic remedies are prescribed by symptoms rather than conditions, as each case of a particular illness can manifest differently in different people. There are many symptoms which can be effectively treated by homoeopathy few symptoms are given below.

1. Heartburn often around midnight, stomach burning and heavy, person may retch and vomit till exhausted, better from warmth and small sips of water. Feels anxious, restless yet exhausted, and is worse from the smell and sight of food. Burning pain is felt in the stomach and esophagus, which often is relieved by warmth and sitting up. Vomiting and diarrhea are possible. Upsets from spoiled food or from eating too much fruit.

2. Food lies like a stone in the stomach, with heartburn and bitter risings. Worse from pressure and movement, better while resting. the stomach feels heavy, with rising acid and a bitter or sour taste. Pain and nausea are worse from motion of any kind.  Dry mouth and thirst for long drinks, which may increase discomfort.  Person is grumpy and wants to stay completely still and not be touched or talked to.

3. Much wind and flatulence, somewhat relieved by belching, likes fresh air. Digestion seems slower than usual, and the plainest food disagrees, especially fats.  Weakening of the digestion by abuse of rich foods. burning pain in the stomach and abdomen, and flatulence after eating.  Feeling of cold and fainting, with a strong desire for fresh or moving air, Craves coffee.

4. Cutting, cramping pain in the stomach and abdomen, with relief from hard pressure or from doubling over. A bitter taste in the mouth, a feeling that the intestines are about to burst, or a sensation that stones are grinding together in the abdomen may be present. Indigestion may be worse when the person feels upset, especially after suppressing anger

5. Bloating and flatulence after even a light meal, not relieved by belching; must loosen clothing. Much rumbling and gurgling in lower abdomen pressing downward, pain. on right side and intolerance of fats. good appetite , but eating even a small amount can cause a feeling of fullness and bloating. Rumbling gas may form in the abdomen, pressing upward and making breathing difficult.  strong desire for sweets, is sleepy after meals, and feels worst in the late afternoon and evening

6. Trouble digesting and assimilating many foods and have to stay on restricted diets. Indigestion, heartburn, and ulcers can occur if offending foods are eaten. Milk or dairy products can lead to flatulence or sputtery diarrhea that leaves an empty feeling in the stomach. Cravings for potatoes and sweets are common; also milk, but it makes these people sick, so they have usually learned to avoid it.

7. A sour taste in the mouth, an acid or burning sensation in the stomach, sour vomiting, regurgitated bits of food, and a yellow coating on the tongue. The person may have problems after consuming dairy products or too much sugar.  Craving for fried eggs.

8. Heartburn and discomfort, felt 30-60 minutes after eating in tense, irritable types. May have painful retching, leaving putrid taste in the mouth. Those who overindulge in stimulants, food, and alcohol. Chilliness, and sensitive to odors, sound, and light. Pain and weight can be felt in the stomach, with cramps or constricting pains. The person often feels an urge to vomit or move the bowels (which may make the person feel better, but is rarely successful.

9. Burning pain in the stomach that feels better from eating ice cream or other cold, refreshing foods. The person is usually thirsty for cold drinks, but often feels nauseous or vomits once liquids warm up in the stomach.

10. Indigestion that is worse from eating rich and fatty foods, with a feeling of a lump or pulsation in the stomach. Discomfort often is worse from warmth, especially in a stuffy room, and the person may feel better from gentle walking in open air. A bitter taste in the mouth can take the pleasure out of eating.  Person usually does not feel thirsty and may be tearful and emotional. Patient feels worse in the evening.

11. Indigestion from overloading the stomach, especially with fatty food, and thickly coated white tongue. Loss of appetite, nausea, distress. Feels as if must vomit for relief.

12. Spasmodic pains and cramp of the stomach, relieved by hot drinks.

13. Indigestion, with discomfort, bloating and pain, especially in children and stressed adults.

14. Indigestion after taking rich or fatty foods, with a whitish coating on the tongue.

15. Indigestion every 1-2 hours after meals, improved by eating.

16. Nervous indigestion, with an empty, ”gone” feeling in the stomach, often after fight or excitement.

17. Flatulence with tenderness over the liver, craving pickles and acid foods, with sudden empty feeling in the stomach yet nauseated by the smell of food.

18. Simple heartburn with excessive belching may have nausea and fluttery feeling in stomach. Eating relieves the nausea, but makes the stomach worse. Improved by sour foods, but craves sweet foods, that disagree.

19. Burning hunger pains, relieved by food and hot milk, but soon followed by indigestion. Nauseated by sweet things.

20. Burning sensation in the stomach and the length of the bowel. Much thirst, but drinking causes shuddering.

21. Gastric disturbances with bilious symptoms, bitter taste in the mouth and vomiting of bitter fluids. The tongue may be coated greenish-brown or greenish-gray.

22. Digestion seems very slow, especially after illness. Flatulence, with uncomfortable distension of the whole abdomen, not relieved by belching. Person sluggish and apathetic, often after excessive loss of body fluids.

23. Long history of indigestion, with alternating constipation and diarrhea

24. Wants to improve digestion and assimilation.

25. Abdomen swollen painful abdomen passes wind with difficulty along with painful burning pain.

26. Abdomen swollen painful abdomen passes wind with difficulty without burning.

27. Abdomen Full bloated not relived by belching or passing wind.

28. Abdomen full bloated relived by belching or passing wind.
